COVER LETTER: Attn: To Whom It May Concern: RE: Psychotherapist/ Licensed Clinical Social Worker Position: I am currently working part-time as a Psychotherapist/Marriage & Family Therapist/Holistic Psychotherapist/Addiction Specialist in private practice. I am originally from Wisconsin, and completed the Master's Social Work training at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as additional post master's training, in marriage/family therapy & substance abuse. I am licensed as a LCSW in the state of Wisconsin, as well as Missouri and Illinois. I have extensive experience in the area of sales and marketing in relationship to my practice, as well as addition clinical skills listed below. I have been practicing at a Master's level since 1992. Some of my areas of expertise including the following: 1) Psychotherapy with individuals, couples, families and groups (Utilizing a Brief Solution Focused Model in addition to other modalities when necessary), 2) Family violence (Physical, Sexual, Verbal), 3) Sales and Marketing/Sales experience in reference to services and products 4) Management/supervision of practicum students, 5) Service coordination, 6) Skills training, including radio and television appearances, 7) Screening, recruiting, and interviewing, 8) Eating disorders, 9) Case management, 10) Community support, 11) Crisis intervention, 12) Anxiety disorders, 13) Identity/self-esteem related issues with children and adolescents, and 14) Depression/Self-Injurious Behavior, 15) drug/alcohol abuse (addictions work), in addition to 16) Providing training, seminars, and clinical presentations to mental health professionals. The job responsibilities for one of my previous positions as a Child and Family Therapist consisted of the following: 1) Provided individual, family, and group therapy, 2) Maintained the daily operations of the clinical program, including admissions, treatment goals, and discharge procedures, and 3) Completed community networking with counseling agencies, universities, managed care programs, private practices and hospitals, 4) Facilitated therapy groups, and 5) Supervised practicum students, and 6) Worked consistently with managed care and /or insurance companies in reference to providing information and referrals, dealing with Employee Assistance Programs, and also specialized in determining the most appropriate level of care for the client in the least restrictive setting, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and standard outpatient care. I have acquired experience as a Therapeutic Services Manager, in which I maintained the residential program, and supervised other employees, and provided individual and family therapy to children and adults. I also have experience working as a Psychiatric Assessor, providing psychiatric and chemical dependency assessments for SSM Behavioral Medicine in St. Louis, MO. The additional experience that I have acquired includes providing therapy and community support to the mentally ill, in relevance to case management, working with flood victims and their families in the role of an advocate and as a therapist during the flood of 1993, and clinical case management for two separate managed care companies.
