Summary Salim has extensive exposure and experience in diverse industries such as banking and finance, information technology, property development and F&B. He has been in the Banking and Finance industry for 20 years. His experience in banking and finance covers both conventional and Islamic banking in Malaysia. He has worked in retail, commercial, corporate and offshore banking with top Malaysian Banks and a Foreign Bank in Malaysia. His last position in the banking industry was as a Principal Officer/General Manager of an Investment Bank in Labuan, a position which required the approval from the central bank in Labuan (Labuan Financial Services Authority). Salim also served as the Executive Director of Malay Chambers of Commerce Malaysia and Malay Entreprenuer and Investment Fund Berhad focusing on the area of economics and commerce for Small Medium Enterprise ("SME") companies in Malaysia. He worked closely with the government representatives, public and private sector organizations on promoting the SME's participation in the government and GLC's contracts. He also involves in consultative and collaborative initiatives/works with the government, GLC, banks, universities and non-governmental agencies in the area of business and product development and financing, investments, project financing such as PFI, Private Equity, Factoring, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and training that will benefit the entrepreneurs, students, business communities and professionals in Malaysia. He holds a Master of Business Administration from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Malaysia, Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, Diploma In Accountancy from Mara Institute of Technology (MIT) Shah Alam, and Certificate in Islamic Law from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Malaysia.
