CollapseDescription

Seeking a Process Engineering Position within a Manufacturing Corporation. SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS Successfully commissioned multi-million dollar capital improvement projects including, an operational casing manufacturing wet and dry processing line, multiple 4000 gallon pressure vessels and piping for processing gelatin, and wet casing processing systems serving as a prototype capable of producing 1.4 million feet of casing in one day. Managed a team of 20-25 employees including operators, maintenance, and welding contractors, for five welding shutdowns of the cooking oil refinery. The team was able to accomplish 95% of the 150-200-item list within a 2-week period. Successfully installed a $45,000 deaerator and (2) $15,000 economizers with associated pumps and piping to the boilers, at the cottonseed oil mill Result: Increased boiler feed water temperatures by 70 degrees, and reduced oxygen pitting on the boiler tubes. Developed the algorithm that became the basis for computer aided control of the wet and dry casing process. This process control procedure integrated new IR technology, plc based logic, and HMI's, with outdated conductivity and humidity sensors to maintain product quality. Implementation proved productivity increased on the order of 10-15%, while reducing waste by 5-10%, through a dynamic solution of multi-variable product quality characteristics before adjusting air temperatures and/or equipment speeds. Started an equipment history database for 300+ separate items. This database included malfunctions, experimental tests, repairs, and engineering specifications. * Supervised the installation, implementation, validation, and startup of a fully automated fractionation process for producing crystallized cottonseed oil (Crisco). * Investigated reports of an incorrectly labeled oral suspension, collecting and analyzing evidence, resulting in a recall and destruction of 14, 000 tubes of the suspension. * Set up a process, within EPA specifications, to make a standard soil matrix composed of 17 key chemical components for companies to test their methods and processes to reduce hazardous contamination in soil, saving taxpayers money by helping the EPA optimize their decision making process. * GARY M.
