I am very interested in making a long-term commitment to a project management position. I am a PMP certified Project Manager and have over ten years of proven project/program management experience plus a solid background in business analysis, software development and leadership. I have an excellent track record for bringing projects in on time and on budget. I adapt very quickly to new tools and new corporate mindsets. I am equally comfortable with Waterfall, Agile or hybrid methodologies and am also experienced with out-sourced and off-shore development teams. I have over twenty-five years of experience in the full software product development life cycle. I spent the first ten years of my career as a software developer so I speak the language of engineers as well as customers and upper management. I have developed training curriculum from the ground up and I am a seasoned classroom instructor. I am experienced in providing post sales support and have also been instrumental in the implementation of software at various customer sites. I am customer-focused and I always strive to establish a good rapport with clients. My software management experience has been in several different industries (aerospace, telecommunications, accounting and others) and I have always found that my most important skills are a deep familiarity with the software development cycle and the ability to effectively manage people, schedules, budget and scope. If I don’t have the specific industry experience then I make a point of learning it thoroughly with each new project management position that I undertake. What am I like to work with? I am a team player but also content to work entirely on my own. I thrive in a fast-paced environment and am a problem solver. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I work as well with remote teams as with local. I am a leader and a collaborator and I get things done. I prioritize my time well and typically make intelligent decisions. I think a positive attitude is important and I respond well to humor. I have been generally well-liked and respected by my co-workers and managers. I take pride in doing my job well.
