Description
I am currently employed at the US Department of Agriculture as a Site Manager with Vistronix Inc., an IT company that has several contracts providing services throughout the US government. Starting with the company as a Mail Clerk 1 on May 1, 2006, my abilities and strong work ethic were immediately noticed by the management. I was appointed as Alternate Team Leader, responsible for the daily operations of the Central Mail Unit and its team members. I also received a Bronze Star Achievement Award on July 25, 2006, all within my first 90 days of employment. After just over six months with the company, on November 14, 2006, I was tapped by the contract supervisor as the Team Leader for the Central Mail Unit and as the number 2 Alternate Lead for the contract at the USDA. In December 2007 I received a Gold Star Achievement Award and was selected for the company’s 2008-2009 “Rising Stars” program, a program to train future management, which I completed in July 2009. On November 1, 2008 I was promoted to Assistant Site Manager for the contract. On October 1, 2013. I was promoted to Site Manager. I currently handle all accountable, registered and certified mail in addition to all mail directed to the United States Secretary of Agriculture. While in service at USDA I have tested and been certified by the United States Postal Service as a Mailpiece Quality Control Specialist, been given a security clearance (secret ) and have received 3 Certificates of Appreciation from the government and been selected as Employee of the Quarter for April – June FY 2013. for work performed for the USDA Office of Operations. Before coming to the UDSA I had spent the previous 3 years in Special Services in Operations Department at The Home Depot. Prior to this I spent 15 years in the medical field in the emergency room and operating room at DC General Hospital. To demonstrate my willingness to diversify I completed a temporary tour with the United States Postal Service between assignments. During this extensive experience I have acquired the ability to work extremely well in high-pressure situations. I am an ambitious self-starter who is multi-tasking and can shift priorities effectively. I am a quick learner and pay close attention to detail. I have a good sense of humor and enjoy working with people. My many years in the medical field taught me to be task oriented and the retail industry has helped me to adopt the philosophy “It might not be my fault, but it is my problem”. This work ethic has given me the reputation as the “go-to-guy” in my current position.
