Description
My name is Fran Heil and I'm a recent graduate from the University of Delaware in mechanical engineering, with minors in both civil engineering and mathematics. Currently, I work as a project engineer at E&S Construction Engineers, Inc. located in Pasadena, Maryland. Our primary line of work involves the design and construction management of mechanical and plumbing systems for large commercial retail buildings throughout the United States. With the aid of advanced drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit) and engineering design programs (Trane TRACE, CAPS, etc.) I am able to contribute to the development of these large scale designs and turn them into a reality. In my spare time I like to research and develop my own designs in everyday devices, such as recreational equipment, to more advanced concepts in manufacturing. When I'm not pursuing my design concepts I enjoy volunteering my time as a (U-12) boys soccer coach. What you can take away from this is that I am a very proactive and passionate engineer. I enjoy each new challenge and take each failure as a chance to learn. My philosophy is that just because one answer is found for a problem doesn't mean that's the only way it can be done; and it's with finding those other solutions that can take a good idea and escalate it into a great one. Lastly, that I also am always looking for a new challenge, whether it be in my current profession (HVAC design) or any problem that needs a solution (product development/innovative design).
