Among the many business issues currently confronting health care executives, I believe the following issues of which I have direct experience and abilities, have particularly significant strategic importance to our industry's executives: 1. Reengineer and standardize operational processes, organization and systems within HIM so to achieve the primary strategic objectives within large health systems. 2. Concurrently facilitate real clinical/business process redesign driving inefficiencies out and benefit realization/ROI into these workflows. 3. Develop and implement HIM EMR strategies designed to leverage the transition to full viable adoption and meaningful use of EMR solutions. 4. Develop EMR training strategies, which efficiently and effectively support change management and leverages full deployment of the EMR across all disciplines of a health system. 5. Develop the strategies, which mitigate the risks to the integrity, utility, and accuracy of the health information accessed through the EMR and reflected in the conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10 code sets.
