Description
I am a Medical research officer a wide range of experience to draw from my sound background in clinical practice, as well as my experience in coordinating clinical research activities and managing clinical trial teams. My clinical research work in particular has allowed me to witness the importance of not only working together as a team but also having shared vision and a common understanding to accomplish a common goals. Furthermore, given my background experience with the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention & Harvard AIDS Institute, in Botswana, I have developed the capacity to analyze and work with large amounts of information. I also have the interest to work with electronic data management and managing databases. Based on this interest I have had the opportunity collaborate with CDC-Botswana Information technology unit and serve as a liaison with the clinical research team. This includes providing concept, ideas and support for applying clinical insights into database development, health information technology management and maintenance of electronic systems used in research settings. This particular effort has already assisted in liaising and bridging the gap between clinical and technical staff. With further expertise I intend to play a more active role in developing a variety of health related software applications. Through the years my research work has motivated me in keeping myself continuously informed on issues related to health informatics, team management, monitoring & evaluation activities and meaningful use of clinical data. Consequently, I have had acquired further trainings in information technology management and working with health systems. I am also currently undertaking an online course in Master of Business Administration (MBA), which I will be duly completing in August of this year. I believe this training will assist me to develop a strong foundation in leadership and update my organizational skills. And capitalize on my clinical skills as well as my expertise in health informatics and applied epidemiology.
