CollapseDescription

Looking for a new opportunity and challenge to align with a new life chapter. Have owned and operated a small business for the past 20 years providing Operations Research, Business Process Engineering, Logistics Engineering, and Information Systems Development services to the DOD prime contractor market segment. Due to various economic issues; looking for an opportunity with an organization that appreciates experience and innovative thought combined with the motivation to meet demands and strong attention to details for ensuring quality results. As a part of the Business Process Engineering services, I was the lead Operations Research Engineering identifying and defining the business processes and process requirements used to then identify, integrate, design, develop, and implement the logistics support systems and associated information management systems needed for successful business operations. Additionally as a part of those services I was the Lead Engineer and Project Manager for the team either developing and implementing new information systems and web applications, or integrating existing commercial-off-the-shelf applications into an existing system, or integrating commercial applications to formulate a new system. As a Business Analyst and Project Engineer I worked with several large and medium size organizations to evaluate the operational management and logistics support systems to identify and rectify process “gaps” between desired / defined operational processes and actual processes executed by employees. As a part of these efforts I not only assisted with rectifying information management system issues but also defined and developed employee training applications to enhance, improve and sustain future operational business proficiency of the organization. As a part of the Logistics Engineering services efforts, I identified, designed, developed, implemented and help sustain various types of operational and logistics support systems that included the operational logistics and supply chain as well as the management processes and related information management systems for these components. As a part of the operational management system development efforts, I identified and developed the operational business requirements based upon both business objectives and unique business process execution needs as defined or constrained by industry specifications, safety obligations and efficiency objectives. As a part of the logistics support system, I analyzed product and / or systems designs to identify all aspects of logistics support requirements that had to be fielded with the product or system in order to ensure its operational capability and minimize total cost of ownership. As a member of 1989 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) G11 review committee, I provided subject matter expert reviews for sections of the SAE Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability (RMS) Handbook and the new SAE Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis specification guidelines. As a member of the 1989 south‐central region Computer-Aided Acquisition & Logistics Support (CALS) Industry Working Group, I helped develop the CALs MIL‐STD‐1388-2B standards for Logistics Management Information (LMI) systems. At the 1995 Inter-service / Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC); I authored and presented a white paper on an automated training system life cycle cost / cost of ownership model and co-authored and co‐presented a white paper for a new comprehensive design methodology concept for the design and development of training systems. I spent 11 years (2000 to 2011) as the Project Manager for Boeing designing, developing, implementing and sustaining the operational and logistics management systems used to manage the daily operations of the Boeing C-17 Aircrew Training System (ATS). Over that 10+ year period the C-17 ATS program had a five‐fold increase in operational management capability while at the same time realizing a 17% annual reduction in overall operating costs. Additionally as a part of this effort, I led the team that identified, designed, developed and implemented the on-line training programs for the operational management information systems incorporated into the program. As the Lead Operations Research / IT Project Manager, I led the IT team that assisted the Boeing C‐17 Aircrew Training System program win the 2003 Oklahoma Quality Award and Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. I have 29 plus years as a logistics support system engineer and business analyst which I combined with a broad academic business education and electronics and computer background to provide an analytical and business capability to meet a multitude of different challenges. I understand the value and can function as a project manager / team lead, or as a cohesive contributing team member when required. During my early years prior to working as a logistics support system engineer and business analyst I worked as an electronic maintenance technician sustaining robotic manufacturing systems which provided the foundation to become a system design and logistics analyst. I combined a formal academic education with a technical training education to provide a comprehensive background that permitted me the ability to open a small business. As a small business owner providing services to DOD prime contractors I have had the opportunity to provide numerous presentations to executive management and government commands regarding both analysis results, design and project plans, and contract proposals as well as develop and present proposals. My formal and informal education, experience, and a diversified background from management to business and process analyst to business operations permitted me to become the IT team lead for multimillion dollar programs. My project management experience combined with running a small business has provided me with the ability to either be the team lead managing the project or a member of the team contributing to ensure that the project is completed on-time, within budget and meeting requirements. My Logistics and Systems Engineering training provide the foundation for understanding how to separate needs from wishes and then convert those needs in to definitive and measurable requirements and use those requirements as the basis for the development of the design and testing specifications from products to complete systems. I am currently working to complete a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and intend to follow with completing a CBAP (Certified Business Analyst Professional) certification. Looking for a company that does not see age as a barrier, understands and values personal continuous improvement, and appreciates diversified experience as an integral part of ones added value.
