Director of Social Services at a Retirement Community - 10 years experience - Glendale

I have been a Certified Residential Care Facility Administrator for the Elderly (RCFE) and Director of Social Services/Activity in a 145-resident Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Glendale, CA for 10 years. As Director of Social Services, I complete close to 120 annual psychosocial assessments; supervise 7 staff members, train 5-7 Social Work interns annually; head our Interdisciplinary Care Team, train all staff in dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease issues, and handle most resident/family issues in the RCFE. As the Activity Director, I develop, plan and implement all entertainment, special events, activities, outings and Wellness Programs for the residents in coordination with the Activity Director for Skilled and the Activity Assistant for Assisted Living. I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), Certified Activity Professional (CAP) and certified in the Alzheimer's Association CARES program (advanced).
