Description
I am a certified Family nurse Practitioner, licensed in the state of Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in December 2004. I am very competent and confident with comprehensive health assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems. I have excellent communication skills with a focus on understanding and meeting the needs of patients of all age groups from varied socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds through an inter-professional and individualized care models with the goal of attaining a stable physical and emotional wellbeing of my patients. I have single handedly run a family practice clinic located in a neighborhood with high population of street workers and drug addicts. I treat many STD cases, educate, counseled and assist many of them into rehab centers and those with genuine chronic pain I have redirected to neurologists where they get curative care instead of support of their drug dependence, which they were getting from regular pain management clinic. I have gained very high reputation; and warn the confidence and trust of this population because of the support that has changed the lives of many instead of condemning them. My long-term goal is to utilize the knowledge that I have acquired though education and many years of clinical experience and move towards a care model that is primary and preventative in nature which is a hallmark of public health. Hence, I am back to school to obtain doctoral degree in public health.
