Attended the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 1974, and was member of Freshman Basketball Program under Coach Jerry Tarkanian. Approximately 6 years of public administration as founder of Vegas House, a Community-based Adolescent Treatment Program for Boys in the City of Las Vegas. Five years in the health care field as a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor. Five years in the Social Services field as a Caseworker for Child Protection Services of New Orleans. Approximate combined total of 6 years in the Criminal Justice and Corrections field having served as a Correctional Officer with the State of Louisiana Department of Corrections at Jackson Barracks and as a Community Supervision and Corrections Officer in Dallas, TX. Twelve years in the Educational field as an Elementary/Middle School Teacher certified by the Texas State Board of Education. I am a native of New Orleans. I completed my formal high school education in the city of New Orleans, graduating from Fortier High School in 1971. I also completed my undergraduate education at St. Mary’s Dominican in New Orleans. My post-graduate studies were obtained from the University of Texas at Dallas where I received my teaching licensure. As my resume/vita has indicated, I have dedicated my career to working with youth, especially males that are having problems that are effecting their educational as well as emotional growth.
