Description
I want to establish a multi-disciplinary engineering co-op organization specializing in research, development, and on-site repair for technologies from companies that contract us. We would then contract specialized groups of engineers whose expertise mesh together to provide innovative quality for the product development at hand. Once this organization is running, I hope to parlay my experience into starting my own company specializing in custom-made materials for variable purposes. Our team of researchers could then propose testing of materials properties on a case to case basis per project specifics. Similar to how I fashioned specifications out of vague customer requests during my time as a sales engineer, our company could simplify the process for customers with little to no science background. My aim is to provide engineers with a stimulating and comfortable environment to maximize their potential for growth and innovation. Beyond academia, I hope to utilize my education to benefit under-resourced areas. Design and development of energy conversion plants could provide low-cost benefit for low-income regions. These facilities can provide power for water treatment centers, perishable food storages, and other power driven amenities. Traveling to impoverished areas in Southeast Asia impressed a sense of empathy for the plight of destitute families, especially children. I aspire to develop sustainable measures to improve people’s quality of life.
