RssResearch Physicist, Boston

I have a strong analytical background in physics and engineering performing research for over twelve years including experience designing and building optical and laser systems. As a graduate student, I did Monte Carlo simulations of polymer solutions writing code in C as well as polymer modification, characterization and theory. Also, I have done extensive scientific programming using LabVIEW, MATLAB, IDL and Origin. I have been a postdoctoral research fellow in Nuclear Medicine Physics at University of Massachusetts Medical School working on motion-correction of imaging artifacts via tracking of body markers for use in cardiac SPECT, PET/CT as well as MRI. Also, I have done postdoctoral research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on methods to predict changes in baseline respiratory drift for patients undergoing external-beam radiation therapy and use this information for adaptive treatments. I have recently worked at the VA New Jersey Health Care System as a medical physicist but did not like the clinical environment and would now like to get back into applied research. What I can bring to this opportunity is a mature, hard-working and fast-learning personality that realizes any undertaking is only as good as the amount of effort one devotes in its pursuit.
