Description
Sixteen years total electronics experience. Twelve years experience with large-scale data acquisition systems and electronic engine controls for the aerospace industry, which includes all system, levels from development, assembly and assembly operations (including SMT) to in-house test, troubleshooting (component through system level) and repair. Experience also includes national field installation, field service and field representation. Experience in the use of standards and calibration specifications for mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical instruments and associated record keeping. Experience troubleshooting and repairing SCR drives, AC and DC drives, and PID heat controls. Some experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC turning/milling centers and PLC controls while under supervision. Specialized training in troubleshooting and repairing computer sub-systems using logic diagrams and test equipment including DVOM’s, function generators and oscilloscopes. A working knowledge of AC and DC fundamentals and circuitry including digital logic (discreet and integrated), sequential and combinational logic, A to D converters, power supply and basic IC circuitries, truth tables, logic diagrams and binary/octal/hexadecimal mathematics. In-depth study of UART functions and operations, magnetic recording techniques and memory concepts including addressing and buss techniques. Training in data communications and peripheral concepts. Familiarization with system architecture, machine/assembly language programming. Knowledge of input/output and diagnostic routines for various microprocessors including job specific processors developed in-house by UTC. Microprocessor coverage includes support circuitry concepts and the building, troubleshooting and repair of complete microprocessor systems. Intensive training in the precision machining field. Training consists of eight hundred forty hours of CNC turning and milling (programming, setup and operations), Jigs and Fixtures (design and manufacture), Processing and Production (setup and operation of the engine lathe, Bridgeport vertical milling machine, type one surface grinder, jig borer), Interpreting Engineering Drawings (geometric tolerance), Mathematics for Machine Technology (algebra, plane geometry, oblique trigonometry), Quality Control (use of rules, calipers, micrometers).
