Description
Pride is a very important word to me and military pride is what defines me. I am proud of having been involved with IFS Government Services and the U.S. Army since 1976, the year we celebrated our nation's bi-centennial. Since then, I've dedicated my career to strategic planning, training and development, information technology and operations management, and personnel administration in service of the U.S. Army both here and abroad. Among the highlights of my career: * Advised the senior director (Commanding General) during combat operations on day-to-day functions of a Joint Operational Task Forces strategic mission in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. * Supervised the leading training, equipping, and combat readiness of a military police brigade and nine battalions geographically spread over three forward operating bases consisting of over 5,200 U.S. and international forces and civilians. * Recommended improvements and security upgrades using information, surveillance, electronic technology to the Central Criminal Court of Iraq, the Iraqi High Tribunal Courthouse, and Site #2, which housed Saddam Hussein. * Oversaw maintenance and repair of over 8,000 buildings over 1.5 million acres, and three remote range camps with a population of 40,000 military personnel, 8,000 civilian personnel, more than 50,000 active duty dependents and retired military personnel worth over $50M annually. As impressive as these highlights are, my latest venture: PRIDE Industries is even more important to me. There, I've developed training programs seven Facilities Services Contracts consisting of 5,300 employees (2,900 of these are employees with disabilities) in Alabama, New Jersey, Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, and California. I'm most proud of creating PRIDE industry's customized Facilities Management (FM) training curriculum. It is is based on National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) guidelines in support more than 125 construction CEOs and various association and academic leaders who united to revolutionize training for the construction industry. Since January 2012 Pride has had a total of 82 employees enroll with 52 successfully completing the core program. That's 52 people who have earned college credits related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and hvac skills in addition to workplace safety and project management expertise, allowing them to further develop their military careers or to transfer successfully into civilian life. Most recently, I've partnered with the Ysleta Independent School District to implement a pilot training program, replicating the FM program starting with the 2014-2015 school year., giving a new start for those students with special needs or significant disabilities. Those students will now have a chance to build a career in construction or facility maintenance field and help with the growing demand for skilled-craft workers within our industry. To me, that's something to be proud of. I appreciate making new professional relationships to share knowledge or to explore opportunities. If you want to talk organizational development, by all means, I'd love to hear from you.
