Assistant professor, Orthodontic Department
I am interested in an Assistant/Associate Professor full-time faculty position in an Orthodontic Department. I am qualified to uphold high educational standards and to encourage and challenge the students in my class to work up to their potential. I believe that my clinical training and my nineteen years experience working as an orthodontist exclusively, managing director and owner of OrthoSmile Center qualify me to be an effective faculty member in your department. As a clinician, I have experience in clinical orthodontics, dentofacial orthopedics, orthognathic cases and management of patients with oral clefts. I have treated patients with various malocclusion and diverse backgrounds with multidisciplinary collaboration with experts from other specialties. I was the first to introduce one of the self-ligating brackets to Egypt and the Middle East. I attended numerous continuing education programs and national and international conferences to maintain the highest quality of care for my patients. I also have experience in lab work including functional, removable and soldered appliances. As an educator, I used to share my orthodontic expertise at dental society meetings and dental study clubs in Egypt and the State of Kuwait. In the United States, my professional career was totally enriched when I received a Masters Degree in General Public Health from the University of Texas. As for my practicum, I attended the International Craniofacial Institute at Dallas for almost one year. While there, I conducted a clinical retrospective study and attended many CLP, craniofacial and maxillofacial surgeries. I have passion for teaching, valuable clinical experience and interest in undergraduate education. I am interested in the use of evidence-based knowledge to solve orthodontic problems. I am also qualified to be part of Craniofacial Orthodontics Program. I am seeking a position where I can teach, conduct research and maintain a clinical practice. I am confident that joining an orthodontic department as a faculty member will be a major step toward achieving my goals, through participation in the department’s major academic and administrative activities.
