RssAccount Manager, New York City

Sam Edelman once asked me "why should I hire you?" I had worked in account management at many great companies including Steve Madden, but my resume showed I would leave for a better opportunity elsewhere. It was at that moment that I needed to take a pause. For the next few years I became involved in new aspects of where the future of the fashion industry was heading. I started designing websites freelance, I started to follow companies who were looking outside the box of the brick and mortar department store scenario, I started a fashion and beauty blog called "It's The Latest", I built an e-commerce store for Sample Sale Productions, and I designed the item for the front cover of the holiday catalogue of Bath and Body Works 2009. I am presently the Senior Account Manager for the second largest RTW line on HSN. The number of units we sell in 5 hours on air is equivalent to what a department store sells in a season. In the three years that I have been there, internet sales have increased to 30% of our total business and overall sales have increased by 50%. I am involved in every aspect of the business including merchandising, planning, and e-commerce. I know what it takes to grow a business. I started my career in the A & S training program and then became a junior shoe buyer. I left retail to sell "Jazz" in the Mid Atlantic states. At Steve Madden, I worked with Federated, May Company, Nordstrom, as well as the top specialty stores in the country. I was promoted to business director and helped grow the men's division to $63 million in sales in its second year. Rhonda Brown hired me to join 9 West, where I was the National Sales Manager of the jewelry division, which, when I started, had the poorest performance in all of Federated and May Company. In 6 months, the division had the highest percentage gain in gross margin as well as the largest sales increases compared to any other jewelry line in the stores.
