Genetics
Dear Mrs/Mr, I am interested for free position in your laboratory that was recently posted on your web side. I have a Masters in Science in from the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina where I studied from 2002-2004. From this experience, I became interested in Cell and Molecular Biology and I decided to I pursue further training in Genetics. Over the two years, I quickly gained significant training in molecular biology methods and topics including cytogenetics, medical genetics, pharmacogenetics, human genetics, and immunogenetics. Fascinated by recent experience in cell biology, I am interested to pursue a job in you laboratory in order to become an expert in this field. I have read several of your recent publications and I would like to join your team to investigate these topics further. Since September 2009, I have been performing cell culture studies in the laboratory Prof. Dr. August Bernd and Prof. Dr. Stefan Kippenberger in the Department of Dermatology at Goethe-University in Frankfurt. In addition to molecular biology methods, I have gained experience in the isolation and propagation of primary cells from skin biopsies, including keratinocytes, fibroblasts, and pigment producing melanocytes. For regenerative medicine studies, I am currently investigating the capacity of primary dermal stem cells to differentiate into adipocytes, chondrocytes and osteoblasts. Finally, I am also investigating cellular differences in the apoptotic response of cells to staurosporin in diverse cell types including HaCaT, Fibroblasts, A375, and Skmel. After induction of apopotsis, I will detect cytoskeletal remodelling over time by staining actin filaments with TRICT-phalloidin together with bisbenzimide (nuclei staining) using fluorescent microscopy. Furthermore, I had the chance to observe the work on new innovative methods offering a full – thickness skin models (FTSM) which could be considered in near future as an alternative to animal tests. While I speak Albanian as my mother tongue, I believe my English speaking and writing skills are very good. I also have good knowledge of several other languages indicating that I am a fast language learner. Through my strong organizational skills and my ability to work independently as well as in team situations, I am confident that I could support your team well in its daily work. Enclosed is my resume showing my education, experience, and background. I am looking forward to establishing contact with you in order to explore this opportunity further. Sincerely yours, Gazmend Temaj
