Weekly instrument maintenance on Sun 3rd shift. K/B staining performed when ordered. -Personal Achievement: instituted the maintenance and QC of the second DXH on 3rd Shift in order to better the TAT of mourning specimens which was added to our procedures shortly after; reestablished updating and maintaining cleaning reagent on TOP instruments; established and maintain Exsanguination Protocol packed red blood cell units; prepare urine specimens for culture on automated culture instrument. b) Urine/Coag: maintenance/troubleshooting, reagent management, and quality control of two IL TOPS and the Clinitech Atlas/ AUWI urinalysis instrument; specimen testing and result verification; with weekly and monthly maintenance performed on the AUWI. c) Chemistry: maintenance/ troubleshooting, reagent and QC material management, and quality control of one of two Dimension Vista's, and the Centaur. Monitor and troubleshoot Stream Lab as needed. Perform Mono-Spot, HCG, Osmolality , Fetal Fibronectin, and Platelet function studies along with on-line chemistry testing of patient specimens. d) Microbiology: test patient specimens for MRSA and, Chlamidia/ N. gonorrhea on Gen X-pert; test positive Blood Cultures, C diff, and GI body fluid specimens on BioFire; prepare, read, and result Gram Stain where indicated along with BioFire results; call positive Blood Cultures and results to appropriate patient care area and Pharmacy. Stat testing for Flu and RSV using BD Veritor System, and Rapid Strep A. e) Blood Bank: compatibility testing of patient specimens in support of transfusion of blood products; use Ortho Provue and Vizion for ABO/Rh and antibody screen; and manual Ortho Gel Cards for antibody ID with use of Ficin treated and non-treated Ortho Panel Cells; tube methods also used for ABID and resolve of ABO Discrepancies. DAT with use of IGG and C3 antiseras and Acid Eluate when required. Thaw Plasma and ARC Pre-Pooled Cryo products. Stock and dispense Irr SDP's after Verax testing for Gram Pos and Gram Neg microbes. -Personal Achievement: with permission from the Blood Bank Manager I was allowed to set up and maintain the first round of Packed Red Blood Cells (6 units type O Positive) for our Exsanguination Protocol in order to shorten the TAT when supplying blood products for this patient population . -Holy Redeemer Hospital: 5/06 to Present: Medical Technologist Generalist Pool 1) Work every other Sat 3rd Shift and rotate assignments between Chemistry/ Micro and Hematology/Micro. a) Hematology: maintenance/trouble shoot Advia CBC Analysers, STAGO Coag, and IRIS. b) Chemistry: daily and weekly maintenance of Abbott Architects. c) Microbiology: culture all specimens submitted; perform Sta Flu, RSV, and Strep A testing using BD Veritor System. d) Receive and accession all incoming specimens. e) Perform phlebotomy as needed.
