Construction Contracts Manager, Sacramento
March 3, 2013 Attached is a copy of my resume seeking a Contracts Manager / Purchasing Manager position within the construction industry. My contract experiences have been varied, but not without intense pressure to meet project deadlines and budget spend. Having been an active duty member of the United States Air Force (USAF), a former employee of O.C. Jones & Sons, Inc. (a Bay Area based General Engineering Contractor) and a former employee of Lockheed Martin (LM) Corporation Space Systems Company, I have acquired a strong sense of dedication and willingness to accomplish the task at hand in an effective and productive manner. My experiences have ranged from negotiated services agreements to competitively bid multi-million dollar fixed price construction contracts, all of which I accomplished with a selfless attitude and a strong attention to detail. High visibility projects and routines tasks are completed with the same degree of high energy and professionalism. As a LM Subcontract Administrator Staff/Procurement Representative Staff, I have been responsible for the entire construction subcontract process, from the specification development stage through contract award (cradle-to-grave); awards were both negotiated and competitively bid. As part of my procurement experience, I have assisted the internal estimating staff prior to developing budgets for projects and have provided contractor price analysis and review of contract proposals prior to contract award. Post-award administration duties have included tracking project costs, negotiating change orders, updating the contract data base and maintaining the contract files in accordance with the established LM Procurement and FAR/DFARS policies and procedures. Developing new suppliers and establishing long-term contractor relationships has been an integral part of my duties. As Acting Manager of the Facilities & Infrastructure Group (11/2009 – 7/2010) and Space Systems Company Lead of the Facilities & Infrastructure Group (7/2010 – 2/2013), my Delegation of Authority (DOA) has been $5M. During this time, I was engaged in LM Full Spectrum Leadership practices and my duties included but were not limited to managing the organization’s workload, subcontract Peer and Manager reviews, continued production in support of the group and our customers, representative on the SSC Acquisition Leadership team, acted as the point person for Facilities Operations/Procurement decisions with regards to contractor assignment and contract method type selection and participated in weekly / monthly reporting to SSC Senior Management. The Air Force, O.C. Jones & Sons, Inc. and Lockheed Martin have allowed me to further my education, both on and off work hours. In particular, I was able to attend several contract administration courses that developed my style for doing business. Various computer-related courses taken during my military tenure and employment have allowed me to fine-tune the tools necessary to be successful in this position. An Honor Graduate in all contracting courses taken, my educational background also includes a B.S. in Business Administration (concentration in Accounting) from the University of the Pacific.
