CollapseDescription

I have 28 years of demonstrated management proficiency and innovation in government organizations. I held positions of responsibility within the U.S. Marine Corps logistics community to include: commanding officer, director/branch head for logistics, transportation, purchasing, contracts, customer service, safety, All Hazards, antiterrorism, environmental, hazardous materials and waste. As a consultant for a government contracting firm, I currently work as a background investigator conducting interviews for clearances dealing with positions with national security. I have worked on employing the implementation of a suspicious activity reporting system and biometrics identity management. I applied my experience in military operations, force protection, and logistics to US Northern Command’s Force Protection and Mission Assurance Division. As a commanding officer I was accountable for the security, welfare, training and mission success of a company of 358 Marines and sailors. The company’s mission was to provide logistic support to Marine units on the front line in a tactical and hostile environment. We provided the lift for transportation, maintenance for vehicles ensured the company had an adequate supply of food, water, fuel, parts, ammunition and engineering assets. I was ultimately responsible for ensuring adequate timely support for the Marines in forward units, a mission I accomplished through personal accountability and accountability in my command. For the past 20 years of my Marine Corps career, logistic sustainment support, problem solving and operations management and risk management have been a daily fact of life. In my job we are given goals and limited resources and constantly changing and evolving obstacles to mission success. As a commanding officer and operations officer we successfully re-supplied and provided logistical support for frontline units, overcoming inclement weather, scarce transportation resources and constant maintenance issues. I monitored a limited annual operations and maintenance budget ensuring our readiness was able to meet and exceed requirements placed on our organization. I feel that my leadership, in emergency management for all hazards, logistics and program management skills would be an asset in this role. Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to have the opportunity to discuss the opening with you in person.
