RssOver 20 Years of experience in executive administration, marketing, and support of senior staff

Attention: Hiring Manager I am a professional who is actively searching for a position where my qualifications match the requirements of a company's search. I bring many years of experience, stemming from office management, administrative management, technical writing, and supporting program management staff of all levels and disciplines (Sr. leadership, program management staff, operations, engineering, quality, and finance to name a few.) I am a self-directed employee who enjoys being a member of a team, but manages myself each day. I work well with other administrative staff, tapping into their expertise, and sharing mine. I like to complement one another, and feel this quality is important to successfully aide in a company's success. I've been told that my upbeat personality is one of my strongest attributes, in addition to my technical background and I am very approachable. I pride myself in being open, honest, possess high integrity, and in my ability to work with all levels of employees. I typically am the "go to person" because I am approachable, and always willing to assist others no matter what it may be. I like to believe that nothing is beneath me. I enjoy being an important link to a team working toward the same goal(s). My strengths are working within a program management/marketing environment, but also includes working with manufacturing, finance and quality. Most positions I have had has been supporting a senior management staff within all disciplines. My resume may not illustrate that well, but I welcome an opportunity to speak to you about the roles I’ve had supporting Vice Presidents, Sr. Program Management and Sr. Marketing managers. While not able to find a position in Portland, I moved to Hawaii as a Technical Writer. I excelled in my writing, and they wanted me to stay. However, with a mortgage here, I was not able to rent my condo, and financially it was not a move I could commit to. The Program Manager asked me to stay, but it did not make sense financially for me to do so. So, even after a wonderful opportunity there, I have a home here to manage. Flying home every month to do so did not work well. I felt an obligation to my team, and being absent was not fair. I was not able to rent, nor sell my home in Portland, so I made the decision to resign. The career experience was worth the move. What I learned from the experience of the other technical writer that I worked with every day I am thankful for, and I appreciate the opportunity that I was given. It was a difficult decision to move back to Portland before shipping my car and my entire home contents before selling or renting my condo to someone, which I had no one interested in. A difficult decision, but one I had to make. I have very good references from my experience there. They asked me to stay, but it was a financial decision that caused me to decide to leave a very good position. I am seeking a long term career in Portland. I welcome an opportunity to speak to you about a career within your organization. Kimberly Varney 503-957-6062
