I have been in the millwright trade for eleven years. I received my Oregon state journeyman card in January of 2000. I have also been a union officer for about nine years. I have held several several union positions, and am currently the Grievance Chair for the union. In my functions with the union I have dealt with extensive negotiations, labor/management relations, disciplinary actions, etc. I have studied state and federal laws and regulations such as FMLA, OFLA, OSHA, BOLI, etc. I am very experienced with the disciplinary process. I believe discipline is necessary to keep order in any workplace, but I also administered in an equitable and fair fashion. The rules apply to all employees. I have excellent writing and communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. I have had extensive leadership and project management training. I expect to earn my BA in the field of Leadership and Union Administration from the National Labor College in Siver Springs, MD in December of this year.

Highlights:

Alomost immediately after I started working for Allvac / Oremet, I was awarded an apprenticeship in the Millwright trade. I became active in the local union, and have since received extensive training in nnegotiations, conflict resolution, political action, project organization, etc. I have been instrumental in obtaining beneficial changes to contract language and have negotiated substantial settlements where conflict has arisen. I am not an instigator, rather I am a peacemaker.
