Hospitality and Event Sales Management

I’ve recently returned to the Kansas City area to be near family. The past seven years have been spent on a small island off the Northern coast of Honduras where I, along with several business partners, purchased raw land, developed and now operate a successful scuba resort and spa. As part of the onsite management team for a remote destination, I oversaw the day to day operations of the resort as well as managed sales and marketing initiatives. I worked closely with independent and group wholesale agents to help promote the resort internationally, coordinated with travel agents and airlines to increase Honduran tourism, oversaw onsite activities and special events and collaborated with architects regarding the hotel layout and design aesthetics. I also conducted research, including online and onsite visits, pertaining to competitive establishments and alternative marketing techniques. I participated in hospitality trade shows and called on scuba, spa and travel retailers. As a co-owner of an international, hospitality business, I wore many hats while managing the resort. Sales initiatives, marketing and customer service were always high priority. I am a highly organized, self-motivated individual with an acute understanding of business, the development and maintenance of a client base, the negotiation of contracts and always utilize integrity and honesty when working with clients and co-workers.
