  • The Data Translations team is responsible for design test and implementation of all complex call routing database changes within all core GSM network elements. This includes data schema designs, preparation, test and verification for all new Roaming Partners, Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO), Mobile Switching Centers (MSCs), Home Location Registers (HLR), Intelligent Network (IN_ Service Control Point (SCP) , Voicemail systems and Soft Switches for Next Generation switching & call routing. In addition the department is responsible for the introduction of new customer features & services as well as ensuring the least cost routing of telephone calls and overall continuity of the entire networks call routing translations, such as Enhanced 911. This is a key specialized and centralized FSC function that is critical to ensuring that T-Mobile customers are able to make and receive calls as well as ensuring that T-Mobile routes this calls in the most cost effective manner through a multi-vendor core network (Ericsson, Nortel, Nokia, Alcatel). This role requires a high degree of initiative, data manipulation skills and understanding of GSM messaging flows. In addition it requires extreme self discipline, due the fact that any changes may result in a poor customer dialing and routing experience.
