RssResults oriented retail manager 40 years experience

Douglas Manser I am looking for a position that will give me growth potential and will be rewarding both for myself and the company that I work for. I have outlined below my strengths that I have accrued in my years of retail management. Thank you for your consideration. Strengths: 1) Customer service skills 2) Hands on Manager 3) Training-Teaching-Mentoring 4) The ability to walk into a store identify problems and issues and develop an action plan to get the store back on track. 5) Results oriented -delivers all areas of the P&L 6) Oral and written communication 7) Ultimate team player – I will do anything needed for my store or to help out any other store in the company. 8) Special project coordinator 9) Store grand opening experience -20+ 10) Ability to enhance overall store morale – accomplished by rewards, positive feedback, daily morning huddles with all department managers. 11) I was the winner of the operational excellence award for A&P for 2009. 12) I was classified as “district manager ready” at A&P. 13) I ran two stores at the same time for a period of 5 months while at A&P. 14) I trained all high potential candidates for store manager positions while at A&P. 15) I sat on the corporate board for productivity as well as the corporate board for asset control while at D'Agostino's. 16) I hold the record at A&P in the history of the company for lowest asset level in a store for a physical inventory. 17) While at A&P in addition to my duties as a store manager I also developed a plan-o-gram training program for the company. This program was invaluable to both store managers, assistant store managers and grocery managers that went through it as well as to category management at corporate. I did all the “test” plan-o-grams for the director of space management and provided a monthly written report of my findings to the President of the company. 18) I opened the very first fresh concept store for A&P in Denville,NJ. The goal of this concept was very high emphasis on the perishable departments as well as organic and healthy foods. The goal I was given was to keep the cut-out of the perishable business above 44%. The store was running over 48% in those departments when I left to go to another store. 19) I provide information to the department managers to ensure that they are aware how important a part of the team they are. IE: At the beginning of each year I break down the budget by department using total sales for the year-total gross profit- total labor-total contribution- average weekly sales. I then do the same for each period so there are always 2 clipboards in each department and the manager can look at them and see exactly where he stands at any given time. 20) Above all provide a safe and clean working environment for both the customers and the employees. I always had high sanitation scores.
