RssBehavior Specialist/Interventionist

Dear Hiring Manager: It is my goal to use my acquired knowledge, continuing education and experience to build a career as a Behavior Analyst with organizations that are committed to learning communities, compassion, diversity and equity. I have a passion for and have dedicated much of my life to improving the lives of people across diverse cognitive capacities as well as cultural backgrounds through my personal and professional experiences. In a capacity that fits the organization’s need, I would be able to nurture and grow in my goals as an educator and analyst by direct experience and continuing education. I’m familiar with Applied Behavior Analysis and the Denver Model. I have an intelligent mind, learn skills extremely quickly and I have an insatiable curiosity, especially in regard to education and social responsibility. I’m also adept at networking and assessing others’ needs, desires and goals. Also, I’m planning on returning to graduate school to obtain an Master’s Degree in Special Education and complete the coursework required to be certified as a Behavior Analyst. I’ve been serving in a resource classroom for two years. I’m currently teaching students with Autism, Asperger’s, Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, mild emotional and learning disorders. This population has a high percentage of ELL and economically disadvantaged students. Before that, I taught in a general education classroom at the same site and another site with a similar population. Recently, I’ve been most fortunate to work in special day classrooms with autistic children ranging in age between pre-school to third grades. I have a great affinity and empathy for these children, and am looking forward to researching the causes of autism and applying what I’ve learned through intervention strategies to aid in recovery. I’m also looking forward to applying my practice of creativity, collaboration and leadership to create purposeful experiences and professional growth. Many thanks, Liz Hodge
