I love nursing and am happy to have been promoted into management at a nursing/facility center. My current position is MDS department coordinator, I hold RAC-CT certification. Prior to this promotion 1 year ago, my position was weekend supervisor for the entire facility, one rehab and 2 LTC wings. I do miss the hands on, direct patient care this position offered...part of me would like to transition to floor nursing in acute care setting. Another possiblity to explore is case management as I have lots of experience in services needed for patients after discharge, payer types, managing the interdisciplinary team, all for the benefit of the resident.
