Hebrew instructor
Teaching is my passion. I have many years of teaching experience both in Israel and in the United States. In my position at the Boulder Jewish Day School, I played many roles. I collaborated with administration to write school-wide Hebrew curriculum from grades K through 5. At CU I collaborated with the head of the Hebrew department. I also mentored newer teachers to help them improve their language instruction skills. I met with great success working with the college students. 100% of my students offered me high evaluations at the end of each semester. However, my greatest pride is that I helped foster in my students a love of the Hebrew language and a love for Israel. I held my students to the highest standards and I expected academic excellence from them. In return, I designed and implemented creative, engaging lessons that were differentiated to meet the needs of individual learners. I consider myself a lifelong learner. In just the past few years, I have attended six workshops. I was especially fascinated by a new approach I learned at the Hebrew Instructors Training Seminar sponsored by the National Middle East Language Resource Center. This technique focused on the integration of media into Hebrew instruction. I also had the opportunity to attend a workshop on teaching “Language B” in the curriculum framework of the International Baccalaureate Organization. The Tal-Am workshops enabled me to implement an amazing curriculum. My instruction methods have expanded and my students have benefitted as well. Teaching is my passion.
