I am results oriented, non-nonsense, and student-centered educator ready to be part of a team to move our students and schools forward in a collaborative effort. I have four years of classroom experience as a teacher at William H. Lemmel Middle School, and Al Rahmah Elementary/Middle. I had five years of school administration experience as an Assistant Principal at Patterson High School. During my tenure at Patterson High School: I ran an academy with 25 teachers, including special educators and 280 students. I initiated educational learning walks as a teaching tool and assisted in sharing best practices with other members of the administrative team at Patterson. I am well-versed with small learning communities/academies; data analysis, school improvement and differentiated instructional models. I formed partnerships, opened new programs, and revitalized DECA a co-curricular national student organization that prepares emerging student leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges. In addition, I recruited advisory board members for the National Academy Foundation-Academy of Finance from the business community and higher education that made major contributions to our students and academy in terms of curriculum, instruction, and much needed work-based learning experiences.
