Over 13 years of strategic communications and program management experience with a broad background of assignments in complex government and commercial customer environments. I have developed international communications programs by implementing organization specific communications plans and strategies. These strategies were implemented through careful, targeted use of public relations, branding, advertising, editorials, advertorials, event management, and annual budgets. In addition, I have assembled and managed cross-functional teams, as appropriate, ensuring the project goals and objectives were accomplished within prescribed time frames and under specific funding parameters. I am currently undergoing my Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification through Project Management Institute (PMI); expected completion date is end of November 2012. I have established and successfully managed client relations and projects for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Treasury (FMS) and the District of Columbia Regulatory Affairs Office (DCRA). Assigned 80 technical security personnel territories across the US at 1,200 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Facilities. o Kicked - off key project components and measuring the success of the program through identified targeted metrics. o Executed projects schedules to include risk, issues and scope management; identify correction time; develop technical work plans and roadmaps; mitigation strategy development, and risk and issue tracking. Construct and led a conference in less than four (4) months, instrumentally planned and designed The Competition for the Sky Conference, “Managing the Competing Demands within the National Airspace System (NAS)”; a major conference for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), successfully reaching out and registering more than 400 delegate attendees. o Branding; positioning; logistical planning; speaker management; exhibitor management; sponsorship sales; launching awareness campaigns and working with federal communication teams to generate media outreach to increase coverage and media interviews. Launching full press court to cover the event. o Developed and managed the project budget which entailed a golf event, booking hotel venue, breakfast/lunch/reception, sponsors, booths, support staff, media event, attendee give-a-ways, speaker guests, event branding and materials. o There were a total of 421 attendees; 213 government registrations; 197 industry registration; 28 golf registrations; 273 different companies; 68 speakers; and 16 media representatives. Expand market positioning for international telecommunications company; broke the media coverage record for Xceed projecting coverage in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe. o My team and I launched a full press court with the local media on several occasions; prepping five (5) senior level executives to answer tough media questions. o Set the foundation for positive articles and blogs to be created though digital strategies, local paper, and on news wires for other international press to pick up. Raising the level of awareness to the general and international public.
