Licensed Professioanl Counselor, Supervisor - 15 yrs experience

I have 15 years of experience in the mental health field, working with both adults and children. I have 10 years of supervisory and leadership experience with my current position managing 43 clinicians with a clinic caseload of more than 1900 patients. In this position I lead a team towards the recovery of patients through education, coaching, skills training, and a positive attitude. I am also responsible for maintaining the agency policy and procedures at all times and ensuring all services provided meet the agency mission. I work closely with the doctors and nurses to ensure clinicians are addressing issues that arise during these appointments and that follow up is efficient and concise. I am also responsible for hiring and training much of the new staff, organizing and leading weekly team meetings and weekly staff meetings. Experience has taught me how to build strong relationships with each department within the agency. I have the ability to work within a team as well as across teams. I work well with each physician and his/her nurse to resolve medication side effects or complaints; while easily crossing over to work with the business office to get appointments scheduled, financials worked in, and lobby issues resolved. I work with the Houston Police Department to educate them on our patient’s needs and how they differ from someone who is not mentally ill; especially during a crisis. Finally, I have recently begun to work with local government officials to begin educating them on the needs of those with mental illness in our community and how education can positively impact how society views mental illness. I am comfortable speaking in public and in front of groups. I take pride in my ability to educate others about the needs of our community and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I have an exceptional work ethic and am not afraid to get my hands dirty.
