I have chosen non-profit/governmental accounting as my specialty and have a varied degree of experience in this field. I have the experience to apply the titles of the Code of Federal Regulations; OMB Circular A-110 General Standards; Circular A-122 Non-Profit Organizations. I performed A-133 audits for almost 10 years as an employee of a Washington D.C. CPA firm. I also am knowledgeable of the Los Angeles County Auditors Controllers Handbook which is important because most grants are regulated by more than one source. Budget formulation, implementation, and allowable allocation of indirect costs are challenges for non-profit organizations of which I also have experience. The financial management of multiple grants from budget formulation to final financial status reports is my area of expertise. Some of the agency grants that I have experience include the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, the City of Los Angeles Gang Reduction and Youth Development Program, various HUD programs, The Department of Agriculture Senior Nutrition Program, the National Institute of Health and various unrestricted and restricted private grants. I consider working for a non-profit organization an honorable career because of the service to the community.
