My more than 20 years of experience have provided me with the knowledge and skills to appraise and assess a variety of collections, including personal papers, photographs, scrapbooks, and audio/video material, hunting for the most important and useful pieces. I have digitized records and entered them into HP TRIM, a DOD 5015.2 compliant ERMS, with proper metadata to aid searching. I have instructed and advised interns and other staff members in research, releasing restricted material, and processing archival collections. Placed in charge of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Archives and Records Center reading room in 1997, I have strong skills in assisting patrons from the initial interview, to assess their needs, to providing usage agreements for the publication of copyrighted material. I have developed skills in genealogy, online research, and the availability of outside resources.
