My career since college has been marked by building greater knowledge, developing cutting-edge communications technologies and leading multinational teams on large-scale projects.
Building on my foundation from the Indian Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering, I remained committed to gaining profound knowledge of consumer wireless networks. I undertook graduate studies at University of Hawaii, the birthplace of ALOHAnet.
After my Masters, I joined Alantro Communications, where I ensured the production requirements of their first ever semiconductor chip were met and negotiated with competing production services and chip foundries. After Texas Instruments (TI) acquired Alantro, I partnered with marketing colleagues and representatives of twenty-five other companies in JEDEC to define an industry standard for wireless local area network.
To experience a direct customer-facing role, I explored a consulting opportunity for Nokia, the major customer of my business unit at TI. This project entailed collaborative efforts across development teams in United States, Finland, France, and India. Within this widely varying cultural environment, I realized that the recipe for success was gaining confidence of the fellow teammates. Impressed with my skills in cross-cultural management, which I acquired over the last few years, I was offered a project lead position. With this experience, I am now currently working as a Sr Lead Design Validation Engineer at a networking start-up company.
