Description
I started as an admin assistant for the federal government. When I left the government, I went to work for a defense contractor, where in addition to my duties as an admin I began publishing the company newsletter. That job evolved until I was preparing a monthly, 8- to 10-page newsletter for professional printing and mailing that newsletter to 400 employees throughout the metro DC area. I transferred with the same company to Charleston, SC as a technical editor, and when that contract ended, went to work for another defense contractor as a proposal coordinator. I transferred to the communications department shortly thereafter as a technical writer/editor. I started by primarily editing technical manuals for our Navy client for grammar and format. Last year I started work on a new contract where I am intimately involved with developing and writing new manuals and revising outdated manuals.
