My experience in natural resources has included leading projects in wetland restoration and habitat rehabilitation. These projects were conducted in coordination with federal and state agencies including the Virginia National Guard, Glacier National Park and the Flathead Conservation District.
In addition I have experience conducting Phase I and Phase II site surveys for cultural resources. Although procedures differ between cultural resources and environmental assessments, a set of standards and protocols are followed in each. Through our survey protocol we: assessed the test area for hazards, tested units every 15 meters, Munselled soil samples and collected artifacts from the test units. In the lab the collected data was compiled in preparation for final reports. This was completed following federal and state guidelines.
My computer skills include Microsoft systems (Work, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Corel Draw. I have training in ArcMap 9.0 through Virginia Tech. Although I have not utilized the GPS unit as a regular part of my work, I have had training in gathering data for mapping.
