RssFinancial Advisor

I have been in the investment management business since graduating college in 2000. Initially, I was hired as an Administrative Assistant at Sanford C. Bernstein to join a team of four Financial Advisors and three Sales Assistants who managed approximately $1 billion in assets for high net worth individuals, families, trusts, endowments and retirement plans. I was promoted to Private Client Associate after my first year and Senior Private Client Associate after less than 3 years. As a result, I was chosen to work directly with the top producer at the firm. At the start of our first year in 2002, we had approximately $700 million under management and within two years we increased that number to $1 billion. In 2004 alone we brought in over $400 million in new assets bringing our total assets under management to over $1.4 billion. My superior administrative and client servicing skills was a key factor to our success. While there, I facilitated in all aspects of account servicing such as the processing of any incoming or outgoing cash or security transfers, unsolicited trades and asset allocation changes. I also acted as the point man for any account or market related questions. However, my main role was coordinating the account opening process. This encompassed analyzing external portfolios, preparing prospecting presentations and account opening materials and expediting the account transfer process. As a Registered Sales Assistant at Morgan Stanley, I worked with a Senior Vice President with over $175 million in assets and over $1 million in annual production. I was in charge of the day-to-day operations and responsible for spearheading group projects. In particular, I orchestrated the conversion of over 400 fee based brokerage accounts to new non discretionary and discretionary advisory platforms. I was instrumental in streamlining the process, which allowed me to delegate the majority of the conversions to our 5 interns. As a result, we completed all the platform conversions after only 4 months and were able to get back to concentrating on expanding our business. Over the three years that I worked with this Advisor, his gross production increased from just over $800,000 in 2005 to nearly $1.3million in 2008. As a result of my exemplary performance as a Sales Assistant at Morgan Stanley, I was promoted to Financial Advisor where I acquired paperwork to transfer over $4 million in assets after only one month in production. Most recently, I used these same skills to accumulate over $14 million in assets and generate over $200,000 in fees and commissions in only 7 months at VALIC Financial Advisors, Incorporated.
