Java Software Developer

Hi, I am an older software developer who remembers the days of punched cards and 300 baud dial-up connections. Over the past 35 years I have written code in 17 different scripting, SQL, CGI, and computer programming languages on a wide variety of operating systems. My early work was in Fortran, then C, then C++, and finally in java. I have been coding in java for the past 11 years. Java is my programming language of choice. I have used java to produce web apps and web services, and have worked on the front-end, the middle-ware, and the back-end. I enjoy working, and hope to be able to do so until I am 70 (another 7 years). However, as I get older, I prefer to find a way to stay out of the commute. I am seeking a java developer position in a role of individual contributor, working from my home. This has worked well for me in the past. Telecommuting has enabled me to be available by email, IM, or phone earlier in the day, later into the evenings, and I am usually reachable on the weekends. My motto: “Have laptop.
