I am a motivated, results-oriented individual with extensive, diversified accounting and financial management experience. Since 1993, I have been employed as Chief Financial Officer with the Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center, a not-for-profit agency. Directing a staff of six, I manage day-to-day fiscal operations of the organization. This includes maintaining and updating all accounting records, preparation of financial statements, cash projections and financial analysis. In addition, I develop cost reports for Federal, State and local agencies, produce budgets and proposals for government contracts and grants, and work closely with external auditors on annual audits. Previously, I held positions as Senior Auditor with a public accounting firm where I worked with small to medium sized corporations with emphasis on the not-for-profit sector; and Accountant with a major mass merchandising chain. Prior to that, I was an Audit Examiner, Research Attorney and Hearing Officer. Through this collective experience, I have gained proven accounting, financial management, auditing, organizational, training, analytical, operational and business skills. I am adept at effectively leading a team, implementing and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting practices, managing corporate finances, training and developing staff, handling multiple projects to timely completion, implementing cost-cutting initiatives, and ensuring quality results in all work.
