Seasoned High Tech Product/Program Manager

I am interested in pursuing a full time product or program management position. I have spent my entire career managing product teams to turn emerging technologies into sustainable businesses. I am committed to total lifecycle product management (concept, manage, launch, market, EOL) and have a burning desire to become a product evangelist again, the "go to guy" for a new and exciting product line. The MicroVAX 2000 at Digital and EasySync at IBM/Lotus are two of my notable successes. For the past 7+ years I have provided product management services on contract to startups as well as established leaders in the telecom industry. However, I would now like to join a company with sufficient resources and leverage to develop new, compelling products using emerging technologies that can make a real impact in their market space. Job satisfaction is more rewarding than just collecting a lucrative consultant’s paycheck. As a seasoned, high tech, total lifecycle product manager I have developed leadership skills to work effectively with program teams, senior management, sales and customers. Product managers typically operate in environments with all responsibility and no direct line authority. Consequently I have learned how to manage thru influence by developing mentoring, coaching and negotiating skills. And I have obtained a PMP certification to validate the project/program management skills developed during my long career as a high tech product manager. My background, skills and passion for turning new technologies into sustainable businesses make me a good candidate for a company desiring to build a foundation for growth to the next level. The high tech industry is extremely fast paced. My passion for lifelong learning has allowed me to keep up with industry and technology trends that have fueled the demand for my consultant’s practice. I have experience in over 30 hardware and software technologies and 10+ industries, including virtualization at Tatara, storage at Digital, and mobile/wireless in various startups and telecom companies that should be directly relevant to the creation of new businesses based on emerging technologies. In conclusion, I'm looking for a company that has learned the value of good product management and is willing to bring on a seasoned product manager to revitalize and lay the groundwork for future growth of a product line.
