The Mammoth Site

Entry Level

  • Guided visitors around a working Paleontology site and explained the history of the site, as well as information about the animals found in it. Cleaned around the site and the gift shop. Worked in the gift shop assisting customers around the shop and on the register, sold tour tickets and organized tours. Also volunteered in the lab and learned how to clean prehistoric bones using Acetone and the air scribe.

  • Excavated test pits at the old Elizabethtown section to determine if the site was historically significant. Also learned how to map the site using the Total Station and cleaned and sorted artifacts for future analysis.
