RssBusiness Analyst with Technical Background

I am currently seeking employment in a professional environment that will utilize my personal skills of management and communication. I have an IT background with 16 years experience as a software installer, applications programmer, programming supervisor, project manager and more. The last 5 and a half years I have been self employed as a licensed Realtor in the Houston, TX area. The drive to get back into a professional position with a company needing people oriented managers with technical backgrounds is now my focus. I have worked for a small organization, a medium sized company, and a large corporation. There are certainly advantages to each particular structure and I can work in each outfit comfortably. My strength is my ability to critically think as it applies to software development and maintenance, and communication with clients/stakeholders and technical staff. I found that having someone who can understand the different needs of all parties to an issue/project is critical to proper resolution and success. I enjoy being that person.

About Me

Industry:

Information Technology

Occupation:

Business Analyst

Highlights:

The event that most shaped my professional self image was being named the Project Manager at my second employer, after less then one year on the job. I came to this company with 4-5 years applications programming supervisory experience, and was asked to take over the leadership/managing of the applications support and development teams. I had less time on the job than each programmer on those staffs, yet was chosen by management for my skills. Turned out to be a positive change as I succeeded in that role for 3 1/2 years until the client contract expired.
