I have been involved in the industrial maintenance and manufacturing field for over thirty years. I first began my career as a production worker, maintenance worker, I helped develop and institute apprenticeship, and gain sharing programs. I have held the positions of Maintenance Manager and Plant Engineer. I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and am currently pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree. After leaving my employer of 28 years I discovered that many manufacturing facilities were operating with the RTF (run to fail) maintenance philosophy only because that is all they knew. I have studied the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) philosophies and am preparing for CMRP certification. I have developed a maintenance reliability plan and maintenance audit including an evaluation of the entire maintenance department. Since then I have been consulting with small companies that cannot support a full time maintenance manager or engineer. I have also found that a lot of times these companies do not have the control over projects that they would have if they had an engineer on site frequently I will help lead their projects.
