RssI have such a soft spot when it comes to milding young children to be outstanding individuals later in life

I have been working in healthcare for five years, as a licensed nursing assistant. I have been employed by Exeter Hospital for three of those five years, also as an LNA. This is a job that is easy to obtain, there is just not much to it. No one can say no to a healthcare provider. What I dream of is teaching elementary school. The idea of me being a part of molding these children into who they will be when they grow up is simply fascinating. This is a job that eventhough is harder to obtain and requires far more work and education than my current position, is far more rewarding. These kids are just starting out with their education. As an elementary educator this would be a huge responsibility, a responsibility in which I am ready for. I know I would be a great teacher and I will do anything necessary to acheive this goal.

About Me

Industry:

Occupation:

Elementary & Secondary School Administrator

Highlights:

I have neen a licensed nursing assistant in the state of New Hampshire for five years. I had to attend school for this and I was also responsible for maintaining my license. I have been going to college studying Liberal Arts for many years now. Finally I have made a decision as to what it is I would like to study for, Teaching. I am currently working on my bachelors drgree in accounting and finance and I am also communicating with Granite State College so that I can earn my teaching certificate prior to completing my degree. I have chose this approach because I feel that it gives be knowledge in more than one area. Not Only will I be proficient in accounting and finance, but I will also learn how to be a fantastic teacher. The requirements I have been made aware of are the degree and the certification. In order to obtain my certification, I have been instructed to obtain employment as a teacher or a teaching assistant within a New Hampshire elementary school, that is when I will be able to start my certification program. I have never been more excited about something in my life. The bachelors degree will be from American Intercontinental University and the certification program will be from Granite State College in Concord, NH.

  • I work on a medical surgical unit of a hospital. My unit has 24 beds. I am responsible for assisting patients with their activities of daily living, such as; showering, bathing, brushing their teeth, dressing, eating, walking around, answering the telephone, checking the blood sugars of diabetics and washing/brusing their hair. I am also responsible for doing their vital signs andrecognizing whether or not an emergency needs to be reported to the nurse. I have a hand in saving lives. Many times I am the first person who will notice a danger and it is my job to tell the people who can take action in saving the life of the patient. One time I reported a very high temperature and the patient ended up going to emergency surgery because there was an infection that was causing her temperature to reach 108 degrees.

Interim Healthcare

Individual Contributor

  • I would go many different healthcare organizations as well as peoples homes to assist patients with their activities of daily living. I would take care of handicapped children in their home, older adults who were dying and even people who just needed help lifting thing and doing their laundry. I would also go in to local hospitals and sit, one on one with patients who needed to be watched for their safety. I got much of my experience as a licensed nursing assistant working for interim healthcare.
