Mechanic I work on HWMMV performing repair fabrication modification and installation operations for metal body and items on a variety of HWMMV's. Operated a variety of machine tools to modify or repair bodies of heavy mobile equipment and performed a variety of associated tasks. Repair less extensive and severe damage to metal and fiberglass bodies to place the back into original condition. Where necessary fabricate minor parts for the repair of cabs cowls aprons doors bodies hoods and other components. Repair cracks and holes in hoods by using fiber glass mess to HWMMV and MRAP vehicles fill holes using tinning compound. Polish and smooth metal by use of electric grinders sanders files and other hand and power tools of the trade such as impact wrenches cutters hammers etc. Drill a variety of holes attachments assemblies and install a variety of parts components equipment. Repair items such as braces brackets and hangers and threaded holes by tapping installing helicoils keenserts and pull nuts. Wear and use safety equipment such as goggles ear plugs safety shoes and protective clothing
