Surgeon looking for health

During my brief experience with the clinical practice of medicine, I have been impressed not only at the lack of scientific application but also at the amazing success of the business of medicine not to "cure" but rather continue disease. The majority of clinical medicine is devoted to treatment of reversible chronic disease. While this pattern is useful for academic purposes and generation of a medical bills, the patient is seldom "healthier" after medical intervention. My ideal occupation is devoted to promotion of health.
