Editor, Technical Writer, Graphic Designer, Website Developer, Marketing Specialist

I am seeking employment with an organization where I can utilize the skills and education I have received in the areas of marketing, copy editing, technical writing, graphic illustration, website development and professional writing. At the present moment, I am a full time senior at the University of New Mexico majoring in English Rhetoric/Professional Writing. My goal is to continue in my educational pursuit and complete a Master of Arts degree in Professional Writing with a focus on Technical Writing and multimedia graphic design. I have taken -- and will continue to take at the graduate level -- a number of writing courses including a 400 level "Writing for The Sciences" class where I was required to write extensive articles on a number of science topics ranging from environmental protection to biological science. I have also taken a basic 'writing for the media' class where the goal was to write articles that were geared toward specific magazine or newspaper publications. In this class we used to a great extent, the "Associate Press Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law." Other valuable classes I have taken during the course of my education are: "Writing for the Web," "Visual Rhetoric," "Technical Writing," "Publishing," and a variety of courses relating to Adobe software programs. In the past I have served as a volunteer writer for the University of New Mexico Foundation and the American Sewing Guild for their semi-annual newsletters and currently for the Society of Technical Communication. I have enclosed my resume which will highlight the most recent job-related experience I have with the University of New Mexico in the School of Engineering where I have worked for the past 13 years. This experience includes writing articles for a variety of publications relating to engineering education.
