Awarding-winning journalist who can write on any topic
I am an accomplished and prolific writer for the monthly journal where I work (www.PhysiciansPractice.com). I am ready for something more than simply providing content, which constitutes 90 percent of my current job. I enjoy problem-solving, brain-storming, analysis, and public speaking. Writing is a second career for me -- I am degreed in Computer Science and was a database programmer for years. I would like to take all these skills and put them toward forwarding environmental causes. I would also like to get out of my chair -- sitting for 8-10 hours a day does not work for me. I think working for a nonprofit would fit me well.

First place Gold Award for Feature Story category from TABPI (http://www.tabpi.org/2008/2008f.htm). Manage 12 writers in support of a weekly e-newsletter, PEARLS, which goes out to 20,000+ opt-in subscribers. I have written 50 percent of my journal's cover stories for the past two consecutive years. I have written 40+ feature stories for my journal during the past 2-1/2 years. Launched my writing career before I even graduated with my Master's in Writing from JHU by selling my homework to the Washington Post -- for a major feature article in the April 20, 2004, Health section. |
